HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT ATTORNEY?
Today, the legal profession is saturated with a large number of lawyers and, as a result, suffers from this difficult reality. It is also difficult to predict the final outcome of many cases, as there are many factors which can affect the course of the case. These include, among others, issues managed in the court, the identity of the representing attorney, identity of the ruling judge, the identity of the counterparty, etc. under these circumstances, how can an individual choose the appropriate attorney to achieve the optimal result in his/her case?
The best result always remains, in most cases, a mathematical variable which is difficult to predict. Most people who are facing a certain issue or case seek to hear from their lawyers a concrete output or a black and white final result for their case. When they fail to conceive or interpret this difficult answer, they resort to the question about the success/failure prospects of the case according to their own understanding. It is well known that no lawyer can promise her/his client with the final outcome of the case at hand, however, in most cases lawyers aim to achieve the best result for their clients, knowing that it is impossible to guarantee the final outcome from the beginning of the judicial procedure. This brings us back to mathematics. Seeking an optimal solution for a particular case involves solving a multiple-variable equation that can vary due to different conditions and circumstances. Thus, how do you choose the best attorney/representation to nail down the optimal unknown variables?
Anyone faces the dilemma of choosing the appropriate attorney needs to ask him/herself two specific questions, and answer them honestly and accurately.
• DOES THIS ATTORNEY HAVE THE APPROPRIATE EXPERTISE AND SKILLS FOR THIS PARTICULAR CASE?
This is the first question that should be addressed. If you are determined to choose a particular lawyer, you must first make sure that your case falls within the areas of his/her competence.
• IS THERE FULL CONFIDENCE IN THIS ATTORNEY?
Specialization and expertise are necessary conditions but insufficient to meet the requirements of working with a particular lawyer. The second necessary factor is complete confidence between the lawyer and the client. You have to be sure that this attorney is worthy of trust and confidence.
CONCLUSION
If your answers to the above questions are positive regarding a particular attorney, then move ahead. You should keep in mind that the obtained results will be determined by selecting the optimal variable in your equation (i.e., your case).
